- Experience with database management systems; Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks
- Experience analyzing data on the order of tens of thousands of records. Strong database and big data structure design and querying.
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical computation or related area
- 0-1 years relevant work experience
- Experience performing biostatistical and machine learning modeling, including with text processing.
- Experience querying relational databases
- Basic knowledge of biology and epidemiology at the college level.

Note: This is 1 year contract that offers full benefits (including medical, dental, vision along with retirement & pension plans).
Under direct supervision, will analyze clinical datasets (with an emphasis on structured and unstructured data in electronic health records systems) to support clinical epidemiology research project. Will write queries of relational databases, develop analytic scripts utilizing biostatistical and machine learning models, apply epidemiologic principles, and self-educate on a variety clinical research domains pertaining to different ongoing projects. Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
